No doubt you have received many updates and messages from companies, services and subscriptions, as well as many important reminders on how to navigate these uncertain times. As small business owners, we are reaching out to empathize and share with you how we are truly feeling at El Sarape, and what we are doing to help us all get through this together.


We believe small businesses form the very backbone of the global economy and our very way of life runs off of small businesses — that’s where we work, shop, play, and form community. But hour by hour, all of that has come to an uncertain and unyielding halt.


Day by day we ask ourselves, whether or not we are making the right decision in choosing to stay open. A difficult decision all small business owners are being faced with daily. We constantly have questions and ideas about our customers, employees and our own friends and family. With a sense of continuous nervousness and a feeling of anxiety we feel as though it is our responsibility as small business owners to be the first to take the plunge and forge the paths that others felt could not be created. We must continue to be resilient, resourceful and adaptable now more than ever to provide an option for those that are high risk and cannot afford to leave their homes to restock their groceries or those that simply are just tired of cooking themselves.


So, here at El Sarape, we remain resolved and resilient in the face of uncertainty. Amidst things we can’t predict, we’re focused on what we can control:

Dear Valued Guest,

In this time of uncertainty in the restaurant industry, the El Sarape family is trying do its part to keep our guests healthy.

We are touched and extremely grateful to all those who have reached out with concerns and willingness to help. We are a strong community and united we will make it through this. This is why we have chosen to double down on delivery and takeout to continue running our business. This decision was not taken lightly, and are trying to do the best we can to support our community in every way.

In further attempts to ease the financial burden of those impacted by COVID-19 we are offering a 20% discount to our takeout guests on top of our kids eat free promo. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer this deal to our delivery guest as we pay a 30% commission fee already, however many of our delivery partners are offering free delivery fees to guests ordering on their platforms.

Although the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration have no reports suggesting that COVID-19 can be transmitted by food or food packaging, we will be using the guidance of the CDC and will ensure proper food safety which is paramount to how we operate.

We are listening carefully to questions, concerns, and requests from our customers, and are keeping those who are affected by coronavirus in our hearts.
